This Year — recapping the best podcasts.: #4: The Adam Carolla Show (January 2006)

that was always funny and always entertaining and always informative. Built up by
comedic mastermind Carolla, none of the messages and comedy imparted here
are anything less than timeless.

The following podcast covers the month of January 2006, and has been split into
four parts, with each part representing a successive week. Please download all four
parts for the optimal listening experience.

Weekl

Somebody at the office is spiting Adam by making only hazelnut-flavored coffee,
and Adam and Dave are offended. Jimmy Kimmel and David Alan Grier enter to
ensure the radio show starts with a bang, while news girl Rachel Perry has difficulty
settling in with her new host and co-host. Adam's father appears in studio with the
chance of winning $12,500 from Adam's pocket if he can answer easy trivia
questions relating to his son's life. Jimmy Kimmel clears out an entire beach with
his gas.

Week 2

Adam decrees that he will be running all left-turn red light arrows in Los Angeles.
Carlos Mencia is in studio to help translate Oswaldo's movie review of Bloodrayne.
While the crisis with the coffee continues, Dave offers up his pick for best fruit and
best pizza topping. Later, Adam and Dave try to wrap their minds around the fact
that power booker Mike August hasn't had sex in four years despite the fact that
he's a perfectly good looking individual.

Week 3

The crew tries to get Mike August laid and to get Big Tad to lose weight. Adam
complains about the uselessness of the traffic report and brings the traffic report
lady to tears in the process of doing so. A lawyer is called to see if tickets for
running left turn arrows can be defeated in court. Meanwhile, Adam continues the
crusade against techno music and Hall and Oates' Maneater.

Week 4

Mike August crashes and burns at the feet of Taryn the sales girl. Deaf Frat Guy
makes his first appearance, and the crew plays Which Weighs More? at the behest
of Big Tad. John Madden phones in. Adam begins his new social experiment
involving a cash-loaded wallet labeled with a phone number. He thinks people will
return the wallet if it's labeled. Seth MacFarlane is surprised at the results and
rewards Adam with a glut of Family Guy voices. More importantly, Dave tries to
decide which Girl Scout cookie is the best, and Adam attacks all those who buy
shortbread cookies.

Adam Carolla

Adam Carolla got his break after an accomplished but low paying career as a
carpenter. Days prior to his thirtieth birthday he met Jimmy Kimmel, and in 1995
he was hired to co-host medical and relationship advice show Loveline with Drew
Pinsky. There he developed his public image: a witty, intelligent, thoughtful, quick
comedian that was always right and was always baffled by idiocy of those around
him. In late 2005 he left the KROQ studios to found his morning radio show at
KLSX.

Dave Dameshek

Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, in 1999 Dave Dameshek arrived in Los Angeles with
the hope of putting his strong writing ability to use in Hollywood. After picking up
jobs at Battlebots and I'm With Busey, Dameshek met Jimmy Kimmel and was
drafted to write for Jimmy Kimmel Live! He also wrote for The Man Show, where he
met Carolla. His love of sports and the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as a keen sense
of humor and unbeatable charm, made him a natural choice for sports-guy on the
radio show.

This Year — recapping the best podcasts.: #4: The Adam Carolla Show (January 2006)

I started listening to Adam not too long before they shut down KLSX. I'd let
my Sirius subscription lapse and after listening for a couple of weeks
decided that Adam could quite possibly become the next Howard Stern of
radio. That same morning, they announced they were closing up shop,
haha. Glad I've got the podcast to listen to. I should send him my $13/mo
that I'd be sending Sirius if it weren't for the show. But I'll hold off on that.

Sorry Ace.

I had missed the early radio show, and even when I went back to
download the podcast, it was only "best of" during this time. Thanks for
putting it in this format, I really enjoyed, and look forward to the rest of
the work you'll do.
